How do you heal swollen pierced ears?

Do not remove the piercing. Make sure to rotate the stud (if you are wearing one). When you are cleaning it, make sure your hands are clean. :] Clean the area 2-3 times a day. Baby shampoo is good for cleaning the area, as it is mild and will not irritate or burn.

Swelling is due in part to inflammation due to an infection and a reaction to a cleaning product. Ear piercing solutions, some aftercare treatments (dragon mist etc.) can and will expire at some point, people use these in hopes of healing piercings but more often than not they tend to cause more grief than good. To control the swelling cease using any and all cleaning products on your piercings, flush the piercings twice a day with warm water as you rotate shuffle or otherwise move the jewellery. This will allow the irritant to be flushed out of the piercings and thus calm the tissue down and relieve swelling. You will normally see a drastic change in about 24 to 48 hours. If the swelling has eased, then you now know the products you were using were wrong for you and your system, normal water irrigation works wonders has worked for thousands of people for many years.
