That doesn't make any sense... I can't imagine how the jewelry can get stuck to your skin
If your jewellery is starting to look too long then your piercing is shallow and starting to migrate and will at some point in time fall out of the piercing.
The skin around it will be dry and it'll take longer to heal.
That depends. If you lost the piercing by somehow ripping it out and the tissue is still scarred than no, but as long as the navel is not damaged it should be fine. Try talking to someone at your local tattoo or piercing parlor, they should know.
As long as you follow the aftercare given to you by your piercer, there are no risks involved in navel piercings. There are no nerves or viens in that area of your body. Edit: As far as i know, theres no definite risks. Infection is a probablitie for any piercing, and from my research, its quite common on naval piercings so make sure you keep it clean (:
No. BZK as it is known in the first aid world is not intended to be used on puncture wounds, that's what a piercing is a puncture wound. Yes I know it's in the ear piercing solution they gave you to clean your piercing with. Well your navel is not an ear lobe, it's a navel and the BZK can trigger a hypertrophic reaction if misused (and it is often misused). I have a attached a link in the "Related Links" to aftercare for navel piercings. Follow the instructions and all should be good. Some newbie piercing studios are selling stuff that is not good for piercings, they don't know nor do they care, a sale is a sale. I wouldn't go back there again. Find a real professional body piercer next time. Good luck.
How do you know it's infected? Many things can look like and infection but are something quite different Contact your professional body piercer for assistance.
Normally, a navel should be pierced with a 16 gauge needle. mine, and all my friends were done with a 14g
Yes if you try to do it your self or it's done by someone who doesnt know anything about body piercing. See a professional body piercer in a licensed and inspected shop, then you wont have to worry and you will live to a right old age.
Well once the healing is complete from the tummy tuck and you have received the OK from the surgeon you want to research your choice of piercing studios carefully. Not every body piercer has the experience to deal with a modified navel. The choice of jewellery and the method used for the piercing procedure needs to be considered to get the right finished look. You need to know that even though it's a simple process to do a navel piercing, even more care needs to be used in providing the service and following up with aftercare a post piercing progress. Most young piercers don't have the patience to help a client thorough the post piercing care. So fine your self a truly experienced older piercer who has the knowledge and experience to help you.
Follow the written aftercare instructions your professional body piercer provided you with when you got your piercing done. They will have detailed instructions covering infection and allergic reaction and proper cleaning techniques, that should get you squared away quickly. If you have any doubts about how your piercing is doing go see your piercer, they will gladly look at your piercing and ask you a few questions to see if all is well.
Well if it feels better and it looks better then.............it must be better. But just don't jump off ignoring the piercing like you did to start with, stay on a routine of cleaning and rinsing your piercing daily. Check the related link for more details and added info.
i know that in California you have to be 16 to get it pierced but you will also need a parent, birth certificate & a current school i.d. i just called and asked this question myself :)
