You cannot apply keratin to your hair because that is what hair is made of.
^^Hair is not completely comprised of keratin. It's made of several different protiens. Some ethnicities have more karatin in their hair than others which causes differences such as texture. Several companies have created a keratin treatment for damaged hair and it is mostly "put on" or applied to hair professionally. However, there are several online instructional videos that show how to apply the product (even on YouTube), however it is not recommended to do on your own. Without consulting a professional or completing your research, you could seriously damage your hair. Certain companies have very strong chemicals that are even included in enbalming fluid that are not approved by the health department due to fumes given off by these chemicals. Studies show that these fumes lead to an increased risk of cancer.
Recently companies such as Global Keratin have come up with new products that you can use at home as a hair regiment that have a keratin compound in them to restore hair to a youthful undamaged state. The newest products contain Juvexin, which I'm still doing research on and not sure exactly what it is. They have different hair treatments for different types and resistances in hair which include shampoo and conditioners. You will see that they are sold separately and are pretty costly with each product going for about $20 each. I've looked into it and feel pretty confident in my answer here, but feel free to go to globalkeratin.com for more information.^^

Can I use Botanicals No-Lye relaxer (Regular) on my hair which has the Brazilian Keratin treament in it? I put the .2% mint BKT in at the salon 1 month ago. Please advise.
Yes, someone can relax their hair after a keratin treatment. If the hair is curly it is better to relax the hair and then apply the keratin treatment.
i use a keratin based leave in conditioner sometimes and i haven't seen any change in my hair color. If you do a keratin straightening treatment i don't think it should change your hair color either, I've seen before after pics of people with the keratin treatment and it didn't do anything to their hair. It does cause some heat damage and that might change your hair color though...
Please use only sodium chloride free or sulphate free hair products after the keratin hair treatment. The reason for this is the salt content will strip the keratin from your hair. hence it is recommended to use only sodium chloride free shampoos and conditioners to wash your hair. INOVA PROFESSIONAL SMOOTH PROTECTION SULFATE FREE SHAMPOO is the best shampoo to use after the treatment along with INOVA PROFESSIONAL SMOOTH HYDRATION CONDITIONER.
