As with any piercing you need to ensure that the piercing is washed after activities in pools, ocean, lakes or any other recreational bodies of water. You can go into any of these with in 24 hours of having the piercing done, but be sure to wash the piercing out when you are done. Failure to do so can lead to infections that will require antibiotic treatment to resolve. So wash the piercing.
