If you are doing it to soften skin, and you keep yourself well moisturized once a week is fine, or more if you enjoy it - you cannot OVERDO paraffin baths. If you are using it for pain relief as in Arthritis, tendonitis, etc. you may want to do it twice a day - morning to loosen you up - evening if you are sore. Right now just doing it in the evening every few days when I get especially sore helps me.

You would also want to put on more layers of paraffin on your hands or feet if your are using the bath for medical reasons. The more layers (especially if you put on plastic bags and put on "mitts" to keep the heat in)the longer the heat will work on your hands or feet and the better result for soreness. I keep my "mitts" on until I feel the wax has totally cooled off - and dipping in 1/2 a dozen times right now - we'll see how it goes. As long as the wax is warm on your hands, its doing its work. Hope this helps.
