In a naval piercing if one hole grows up and the other is open can you get it repierced?
You need to allow both holes to close before you get it repierced. It would be difficult for a piercer to align the new hole with the old one. It is best if you start fresh with 2 new holes. Ok, well, I have found this to be different......But then Iv'e only been piercing now for 18 yrs. or so. Ask your piercer to use a 14 ga. taper.....Tapering usually costs less then re piercing and if there is any hole left and he can get the taper in it , it wont even create and trauma....But it will sting....
If you have to re pierce another piercer may not want to use the same holes anyway....Just pick someone competent who knows what they are doing.... Normal placement is 3/4" from the tip of the tongue to the top ball. If your tongue is unusually long placement can vary slightly. If you remove the piercing (no sooner than 72 hours from the time the piercing was first done) you will need to wait at least 3~4 weeks from removal date to get the piercing redone. The tongue swells and distends once it's pierced so we need to be sure this swelling is gone and the old piercing had healed up so there is no bump or distension from the old piercing to interfere with the new piercing. edit: did you know people get (not uncommon either) brain abscesses from their tongue piercings? be careful, because this is definitely one of the most dangerous areas to pierce considering how close it is to your brain stem.

Try to ease the earring in slowly and carefully; move it around in the hole to see if you can find a small opening. If it is already closed, go and get it repierced professionally.

There is nothing that will speed up the closing of the navel piercing other than time. After ten years the piercing is well established, just remove the jewellery and let nature do it's thing, you may find the piercing may not close completely at just keep the area clean during bathing and other than that dont worry about it.
