You'll be fine, i go swimming in lakes, pools, etc.
I've had mine for six months, and I've been swimming almost since i got it. Just wash it afterwards.
Nope. Wait 2-3 months to swim with a new piercing.
You are typically advised to refrain from swimming for six weeks. Pools can harbor a lot of nasty bacteria that make your new piercing at risk of infection.
2-3 months. Don't swim in pools, oceans, lakes, or anything else. Yes, the ocean has salt in it but it's also FILLED with germs. Swimming with a new piercing is just begging for an infection.
If the piercing is completely healed, no. If the piercing is still fresh/new, possibly. If you remove it, continue to clean & care for it as you would any other wound.
Wait at least 2 months. Longer would be better. Water is filled with bacteria so going swimming with a new piercing will greatly increase the risk for infection which can lead to rejection.
If the chlorine level is correctly maintained this should not be a problem.
Yes. Bodies of water are filled with bacteria so swimming with a new piercing greatly increases the risk of infection. Wait 2-3 months.
Yes. Water is filled with germs and thats not good for a new piercing. It really increases the chances of infection. If it gets infected, you could end up with permanent scarring or disfigurement of the cartilage in the area. Just wait 2-3 months to put the piercing in the water. You can go swimming as long as you dont get the piercing wet. Cover it with a bandaid to prevent any water from being splashed on it and clean it well afterwards.
Rinse and clean the piercing twice daily with special clearer for piercings and clean the piercing at least once a day with a salt water mixture. This won't guarantee that your industrial won't get infected, but it will definitely help.
You need to wait 4-6 weeks after you get the piercing before you go swimming. The first 4-6 weeks are a critical time in the healing process, and during this time your piercing does not need any added irritation. Chlorine is very drying to your skin, which can cause your piercing to flare up and becoming irritated. In addition, do not go swimming in lakes or rivers either. Lakes and rivers are treated with any disinfectant, so they have a lot of bacteria in and around them. If bacteria comes into contact with your new piercing, it could become infected.
Swelling is normal for a new piercing.
To answer your question, they do not use a gun to do an industrial piercing. they use something similar to a sewing needle that's the best way i can describe it. its much sharper and bigger about a 14 gauge. they have videos on youtube so you can get an idea of the steps taken and the instruments used. i have an industrial piercing myself i don't think that the needle felt any different than getting a regular earlobe or cartilage piercing with a gun both feel the same to me. I hope I was able to provide you with the answer you were looking for. Bridget, 17, New Jersey
