If you just need to hide it, you can get bars with clear or flesh-colored balls. Or a clear glass retainer. If you wanna leave it naked, theres no way to be sure that it won't close.
You can use a piece of retainer jewelry made of plastic or silicone to keep the hole from closing without having a tongue ring in place. Alternatively, you can visit a piercing shop and ask them to insert a temporary acrylic or glass retainer that will maintain the hole until you can reinsert your tongue ring.
Chances are really good that the piercing will shrink making reinsertion of the barbell difficult, if this occurs visit your local body piercer where they can reinsert it using and insertion taper.
A good two weeks. If you take it out too soon your tongue may get swollen and your hole will close
It doesn't take long before a new tongue pierce hole closes because when you open and close your mouth your hole in you tongue just gets used to having nothing in it so i would say about 24 hours before it closes.
It depends on how long you had it in. ( a week yes probably.. 5 months no)
There is this thing that is not a tongue ring, but it's plastic and you can't really see it when it is in. Idk if there are places that sell them. If not, you could get one from a tattoo/ peircing parlor, I'm pretty sure. == == You can buy glass or acrylic retainers that will hold the piercings shape and allow a normal barbell to be inserted at a later time.
After 8 years chances are good it's permanent at this point.
I took mine out about a week in and replaced it with a clear bar, but they tell you you should wait a minimum of 2 wks before you remove the original bar. You can't keep the bar out or the hole will close. It's only a matter of minutes before it will close so I don't advise you to take it out and keep it out. Just replace it with a tongue retainer. You can google them. Also, it doesn't matter how long you've had the piercing, your tongue heals quickly and the hole will close. I know someone who had their tongue piercing for 10 yrs but when she took her tongue ring out it only took about half an hour before the hole started closing.
yes you can but just make sure you put it back it because if you don't your hole will close back up and it do try to find your hole and take your tongue ring a twist the ring back into the hole
yes, but it would be smart to put something in the hole in their place, otherwise the hole will close up
its how they smell
