you could put a straightening protectoin spray or serum so your hair wont burn or dry out or lose its shine . if your hair is dyed , you should put a special dye protecting creme or serum on so your dye wont come off on your straightners as having dye on your straightners can break or ruin them
If you straighten your hair with a flat iron on wet hair without using a wet/dry setting, it can cause damage to your hair. Wet hair is more vulnerable to heat damage because the water in the hair can turn into steam, causing bubbles to form in the hair shaft and potentially lead to breakage. It's best to dry your hair completely before using a flat iron to prevent damage.

Both processes can damage your hair, but chemically straightening can lead to more long-term damage because it affects the structure of your hair. Using a flat iron everyday can also cause damage, but it's more temporary and can be minimized with heat protectant products. It's important to take breaks from heat styling and use proper hair care products to maintain healthy hair.
The best way to straighten your hair, while doing minimal damage, is to make sure the straightener is hot, but not at the highest setting. The hotter it is, the more it damages your hair.
