A no chip manicure, often referred to as gel manicure, involves applying a special gel polish that is cured under a UV or LED light, creating a durable and long-lasting finish. Unlike traditional nail polish, which can chip within days, no chip manicures can last two weeks or more without losing their shine or integrity. The application process typically includes shaping the nails, applying a base coat, gel color, and a top coat, followed by curing each layer under the light. Removal requires soaking in acetone or using a specialized remover, as the gel adheres strongly to the nail surface.

Yes, applying a clear top coat can help extend the longevity of a no-chip manicure. It provides an additional layer of protection against chips, scratches, and wear, enhancing the durability of the color underneath. Regularly reapplying the top coat can also maintain the shine and freshness of the manicure over time.
Manicure is a verb and a noun. Verb: Those young men manicured my lawn. Noun: I'm going for a manicure.
It depends where you go. I am in beauty school and the school charges $15, but at a lower-end salon it would probably be about $30-$35
A sport manicure includes all of the normal processes of a classic manicure except that nails are buffed and no polish is applied. It is often referred to as a buff-manicure.

First you want to make sure you have what's called a No Chip Manicure. A No Chip Manicure is a gel base that is applied to the natural nail bed (you can add extensions). An actual No Chip Manicure is NOT acrylic and it does not require a drill to remove. There are several no chip manicure products available on the market (Bio Sculpture Gel, OPI Axxium. Shellac, Gelous etc). The majority of them require that you remove the top gel (sealant gel) by buffing off the sealant gel with a file. Take a peice of cotton (not the entire cotton ball) and dip into 100% acetone (not nail polish remover there is a difference). Then take a small peice of aluminum foil and wrap your fingers with the cotton soaked in acetone. You can add a hot towel or heating pad on top of your hands to speed up the process. Wait 10-15 minutes and then remove the No Chip Manicure with orange wood stick. Shellac on the other hand only require that you just wrapped the nails in the cotton and acetone without removing the top gel. Pretty fast removal. Stubborn to remove spots please use any type of oil to push away or just re-wrap the finger. After you finish softly remove any access with a block buffer (yellow buffers are perfect for this). Wash your hands and then add oil to your cuticles with hand lotion. Remember tough spots may need to be re-wrap if all fails please return to the nail shop and ask them to safely remove your No Chip Manicure.
