It means goth.... back in the days it was. Now black nail polish is nothing but a color of uniqueness. Do you wear black? Well if you do, do you consider yourself a goth? Well it's the same for black fingernails. It's nothing more then a pure color to wear. No lie but black fingernails at one point did represent the darkness or death for Gothic people but they wore all black. If you are not wearing all black then black fingernails shouldn't be considered a Gothic trend. Though the color now means kinda of a lay back person or a rock star! It is kind of trashy but another color to wear. :D
Another reason: Black nail polish was originated from being "Dark, Isolator, Devil Worshiper and more" That's how the goths view it at the time because of how dark the color was but remember it's just a pure color like white, gray and more. Another color god originated doesn't mean you go dressing up in black because people will view you as a goth because it stills go around but having fingernails black bad?.... Na!
