Clean it and leave it alone, chances are good you are messing around and touching it way too much. Clean the piercing and leave it alone and try to forget about it till you have to clean it again. If the piercing is itchy then chances are good you are reacting to your cleaning products and to resolve this you need to flush the piercing under running water while moving the jewellery then dry the piercing and the itching should stop.

Just keep it clean. I dislike navel piercings because they are s-o-o-o-o-o hard to heal. Your navel is a hinge point on your body, and it's always in motion. Piercings that are being moved around all the time heal slowly if at all--consider a year to be a quick healing on a navel piercing.

If you are very thin and very pretty, a navel piercing is really cute. But it's such a pain to deal with I'm not sure it's really worth it.

Well you need to think about what may be causing the piercing to get swollen?

1. Is it something you did?
2. Is it something you put in the piercing?
3. Is it something you are cleaning the piercing with?
4. Is it something you put on the skin around or on the piercing?

Once you figure that out then the simple answer is to cease what ever it is that you are doing to cause the piercing to swell. If it's something you are using for cleaning obviously then it's causing the problem and stop using it. The solution is to alter the behaviour and then flush the piercing with plenty of warm running water in the shower to flush the irritant away and out of the piercing.

If you changed the jewellery recently then chances are really good you just placed cheap metals in a piercing that can't handle exposure to junk. Remove the jewellery and put the original jewellery back in place, then flush the piercing with water as listed above.

If you just got it pierced, take it easy for a few days. Don't work out, don't bend down much. Ice it when it seems swollen.

If it persists for a few weeks or it starts to look infected, get it checked it out.
