You need to go through an apprenticeship. Go to some local shops and ask about if/when they would consider an apprentice. It costs some $$$$$ but is all worth it in the end. Good luck!!
Getting a body piercing is going to hurt regardless of where it is on your body. There are of course areas that are more sensitive then others. If you have a properly trained piercer providing the piercing it will diminish the amount of pain you feel.

Body Piercing do not cause any "condition" in a medical sense. The adornment of the body by piercing doesn't cause any adverse reaction or event in the body. Failure to look after a new piercing can lead to infections, and reactions when the piercing is incorrectly looked after.
Go to the Association of Professional Piercers website. They have a directory of shops there. Of course, you'll need a parent's permission to get a piercing at 14.
Body Piercing
Yes It Is :)
of course.
One of the best books out currently is by Elayne Angel titled "The Body Piercing Bible". This covers the does and don't of body piercing from a professional body piercer's perspective and is geared to the body piercing fan. Explaining the common misunderstands surrounding body piercing. Elayne was a manager and piercer at Gauntlet in California, well liked and well respected She is currently the medical liaison officer for the APP (Association of Professional Piercers). I would recommend anyone who want s to learn more about body piercing to grab this book and give it a good read. Elayne is highly respected by Jim Ward the founder of Gauntlet and the father of the modern professional piercing movement in North America.
