Hair only grows for a certain number of years before it falls out - about 8 years for most of us - so how long it grows in that time depends on the rate of hair growth and these two factors working together determine how long any particular person's hair grows before it cannot grow any longer however long a time one has been growing it for.

If some arm hair was burned or cut off what controls the regrowth so that it grows back to the same length as the rest of the hair on the arm?

The length of all of your body hair, including arm hair is controlled by the growing cycle. A hair strands growth cycle consist of: a growing period a resting period falling out and start of new growth period with a new hair strand. The length of the growing period is fixed for each type of hair (like arm hair). The hairs grow a certain amount every day during the growth period and then stop growing. When they stop growing they are all the same length since they have grown the same amount each day for the same number of days. Usually the hairs on your arm (or leg or head) are in a mixture of different periods; otherwise all the hair would fall out at the same time. This is why the hair on your legs looks thinner after you have shaved them; only the hairs in the growing period start growing right away.

How do you cut around a cows lick?

You cut the hair in the same direction that it is growing in and you can leave a little bit of the length there to avoid the hairs from sticking up.

Is thick hair allowed more daily loss?

Most people lose 80 hairs a day. People with curly hair, thick hair and people who wear there hair up lose the same but feel like they lose more because the hairs dont fall out as you go about your day. It usually falls out when you brush or in the shower but its only build up of your entire day.

How many hairs grow on human hair?

On average, a human scalp has about 100,000 hair follicles, but not all of them are actively producing hair at the same time. It's normal to shed around 50-100 hairs each day as part of the hair growth cycle.

If you shave chest and back does it grow back thicker?

In reality it doesn't grow back "thicker" but it looks this way. The hair on your body grows in cycles - it will grow and when it reaches a certain length will fall out and begin to grow again from the follicle. At any one time you will have all the different cycles on hairs on your chest - some will be long, some will be short and growing, and some will not be there because they have just fallen out. When you shave your hair, it is then all the same length (there will be no long ones and short ones) and will grow back at the same time and therefore LOOK thicker.

How do you cut hair in a uniform layer?

The uniform layered cut is simply a cut that is designed to create uniform lengths in the hair all over the head. (Meaning all hair is the same length) This is achieved by determining a starting length and cutting guides - usually at the perimeter of the hair (which is the hair that grows along the hairline all these guides to cut the hairs in the sections nearest them. Each time a new section is moved to, a portion of the previous section is used as a guide length to make sure that all the hair is cut to the same length. Please make sure you take the hair out at 90 degree angles in clean vertical strips moving up following the shape of the head

Do Yorkies shed?

no They shed a little, but never a lot.Yorkies do not have an undercoat, so they will lose hair about as much as a human. Shedding can be reduced by grooming/brushing the yorkie regularly.i dont really like them.Yes, but not as much as a lot of other breeds. The hairs go through a growing phase, then a rest, then eventually fall out, just like our hairs do. But not a lot fall out at the same time.

Does nose hair grow faster when trimmed?

No, no hair grows faster or get thicker when trimmed or plucked etc. this is a common myth. short hair appears to grow faster than long hair because there are less natural breaks in the hair etc. all similar hairs grow at the same speed (based on hormones) the hair on your head grows at the same speed as every other hair on your head, your nose hair grows at the same speed as all the other nose hairs wether you pluck or trim hope this helps

Are tap roots the same as root hairs?

No, tap roots and root hairs are not the same. Tap roots are the main root of a plant that grows straight down, while root hairs are tiny, hair-like extensions that grow from the surface of roots and are responsible for nutrient absorption.
