This can be due to misuse or over use of an oral rinse, this is also common with galvanic corrosion which can occur with mismatched barbell components made of different materials. The corrosion occurs when the barbell is in the mouth and in contact with saliva (which is acidic) the mismatched materials are there fore in an acid solution and start to corrode.
The resulting corrosion can affect the tongue, gums and throat. Have the barbell changed to a matching material barbell (some studios get mismatched material barbells and don't even know it). If you need too, check out other studios to find a barbell that is made from the same material (internal thread, external thread doesn't really matter, it's a piercer's opinion and nothing more).
With the oral rinse issue, you only need to rinse in the morning and again just before bed. Some piercers get carried away with the over use of mouth wash (it really isn't that necessary to be rinsing every hour) staying on cold stuff for the swelling and even rinsing with fresh cold water will work just fine after meals.
Cutting back on the rinsing may make a noticeable change in the gums. If after having modified your after care and given it 24~48 hours you still have gum discomfort then consider having the barbell changed.
very rarely are the tongue piercings straight. if its not infected, keep it
OKaii well for me it didnt hurt at all !!
No. Piercing your belly button wont hurt as compared to piercing your tongue.
Industrial for sure. Tongue piercings dont hurt that much at all.
It doesnt
Getting a tongue piercin will hurt a bit regardless of what you've had pierced before.
Tongue piercings do not hurt much. Even a tongue web or double tonuge which seem to have a higher pain level, do not hurt too much. As ar as I 've experienced, an ear piercing hurts more than any other piercing. I am plannig to have a conch piercing and just read at site rightpiercing dot com that it hurts too much if I plan to have an inner and outer conch at the same time. Emily
Belly button piercing hurts more. I have them both & that's the one that hurt the most for me.
no it doesnt hurt but it just feels like someone is pinching you
Once I was finished piercing her tongue I went home. The sound was so piercing it hurt my ears. His comment was piercing and hurt my feelings. I watched him piercing each piece of meat with a skewer to make the kabobs.
My nose hurt worse then my tongue. However, the first week of having your tongue pierced sucks!
The piercing that hurts the least is the belly button and the tongue web! I didnt flinch one bit.
