Yes. Of course, you still want to take really good care of your piercing while taking the antibiotics.
Don't take it out!!!! That will trap the infection making it harder to get rid of and possibly form an abscess. Keep the jewelery in and go to the doctors to get antibiotics.
Go see a doctor to get antibiotics. They'll help a ton!! Then just keep cleaning it with sea salt and water and only wear surgical steel, gold or glass jewelry in it.
No, unless it's infected. Antibiotics only help to kill bacteria, they won't speed healing time.
Well the piercing will take as long as it needs to heal, not all people are created equally and we all heal at various rates based on health diet and aftercare. Normally theaverage healing time is between 6 to eight weeks for a light heal however health can be a factor in this estimate. This is only a light heal no professional piercer will consider a piercing healed until it's a full year old and seasoned (toughened up).
You shouldn't remove any piercing until after they are entirely healed. If the piercing is already infected, removing the jewelery could cause the piercing to heal over trapping the infection inside the skin which will require medical attention. But if you don't have a choice, or you've decided that you don't want the piercing anymore, (only if the piercing is NOT infected) you can take the piercing out to let it grow over, and as long as you continue aftercare until the piercing is entirely healed you shouldn't get an infection.
It should eventually. It takes from a few weeks, to a few months, for a piercing to fully heal. If your piercing isn't healing properly, or begins to ooze or bleed, you may need to to remove the piercing all together, let it heal, and then possibly try again. Once a piercing gets infected, there isn't much you can do besides take advil, wait it out, or remove it all together.
Your ear takes 6 weeks to heal from a piercing.
Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, if there is and infection it will fight the infection however it won't fix the piercing. The piercing became infected because you failed to keep the piercing clean, and the infection set in and is doing it's damage to the tissue. You need to clean the piercing daily, every day without fail to allow the body to heal. Using simple diluted antibacterial liquid soap and water in the shower daily would have helped to avoided an infection. Regardless of what antibiotics you take you need to clean the piercing daily, only then will the body be able to clear out the damaged cells and matter and start repairing the damaged tissue. Then once the healing starts, daily rinsing will keep the piercing healthy and happy.
How long it takes a smiley piercing, or any piercing to heal up will depend greatly on the care given. Making sure to keep the piercing clean can help it to heal as quickly as possible.
To HEAL you?
Put rubbing alcohol on it. put it in the cap and move your hair back and pour it on to the infected peircing. and dont freak out when you see bubbly white stuff coming out! thats the bacteria coming out of your peircing.
If its already healed, it might get a little angry/irritated but not infected. If its still pretty new, a cold will increase the chance of infection because your immune system will be compromised since its fighting the cold and trying to heal the piercing. As long as you keep cleaning the piercing properly and don't touch it, you should be fine. Theres still a risk of infection though :)
