because the tonsills swell, it blocks the throat which makes your breathing more hoarse, which effects the lungs because they cannot let out all the air they want to.

∙ 9y agoIf it is bad enough, the tonsils will swell and the throat will become inflamed. Sometimes the swelling and inflammation can be enough to cause some obstruction in the airway.
