they are transparent. corrective lenses actually bend or divert the light slightly, so that is why you see a shadow. The light that would otherwise have travelled straight to the point at which a shadow is cast has been refractedto another place. You will probably see bright areas or highlights from this effect. it has nothing to do with the coating on the lens, but the curvature.

It would depend if you have glaucoma.

If your lens is translucent you can see.

If it's opaque, you can't see.

If you close your eyes it is still possible to tell if it is light or dark outside. That makes it translucent.
