Type 1 interferons are nonspecific--they nonspecifically inhibit viral infection inside the host cells. Basically what happens is that once a cell gets infected by a virus, they induce the production of these interferons by the cell, they are then secreted into the extracellular fluid to attach onto plasma membrane receptors of other cells including itself, having an autocrine/paracrine function (IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE CELL IS ALREADY INFECTED OR NOT)--in result of these interferons binding on the cells (including itself), it initiates the production of antiviral proteins by the cell, which prevent further replication of a virus.
In a nutshell: Viruses induce Type 1 Interferon production which inhibits viral replication in the host cell
When a cell is infected with virus it sends out an interferon to warn other cells around it to stop transcription and translation and to produce antiviral proteins
Herpesviruses are a virus family that include a number of different herpes viruses such as herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 (HSV-1, HSV-2) also known as Human Herpes Virus 1 and 2 (HHV-1, HHV-2)
1. Interferons: - anti-viral proteins, "interfere" with viral replication - virus infected cells release interferons and help nearby cells take defensive action - also combat tumor cells 2. Complement proteins: - group of at least 20 plasma proteins that circulate in blood - when activated amplifies inflammatory response - can sometimes kill bacteria by cell lysis 3. Cytokines: - small proteins which mediate and regulate immunity and inflammation
Herpes simplex 1 virus can be found in the oral region, including the lips, mouth, and face. It is commonly transmitted through oral-to-oral contact, such as kissing or sharing utensils.

Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus. No doubt you've heard of "herpes" before, but don't jump ahead of yourself. There are actually two types of herpes simplex virus, "type 1" and "type 2." Type 1 herpes simplex virus. Herpes simplex virus type 1 ("HSV1") generally only infects those body tissues that lie "above the waistline" and it is HSV1 that causes cold sores in the majority of cases. Type 2 herpes simplex virus. Herpes simplex virus type 2 ("HSV2") usually only infects those body tissues that lie "below the waistline" and it is this virus that is also known as "genital herpes." Herpes simplex virus type 2 is not usually the virus that causes cold sores, although it can.
Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus type 1.
When a cell is infected with virus it sends out an interferon to warn other cells around it to stop transcription and translation and to produce antiviral proteins
Herpes simplex virus type 1 is more commonly diagnosed in oral herpes, but both type 1 and type 2 can infect the mouth, genitals, or other body parts. Type 1 is less likely to recur than type 2.
Yes.
Cold sores are caused by the herpes virus (HSV-Type 1).
Type 1 is the most common of the 3 Polioviruses that causes the Polio disease.
This year's vaccine does contain Type A, H1N1/09 vaccine made from the specific type (i.e., mutation) of the H1N1/09 virus that is expected to circulate in the US in flu season this year. That specific strain is called: A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus The vaccines made from the other two selected influenza strains that are in the 2012-2013 flu vaccines in the US contain: A/Victoria/361/2011 (H3N2)-like virus B/Wisconsin/1/2010-like virus (from the B/Yamagata lineage of viruses)
herpes virus or allergy to the sun The Herpes virus that causes lip blisters is not an STD, it is a virus called Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HPV1). The sexually-transmitted disease type of Herpes is HPV2. So don't worry, having those sores on your lip doesn't mean you have an STD.

The are other forms of the virus, such as Herpes zoster, that cause lesions on other parts of the body.Virus is herpes simplex virus type 2 for genital herpes and type 1 for oral herpes.Shingles, which is a form of herpes is caused by chicken pox virus.STD
Yes it is a herpes infection but normally a different type. Cold sores are normally caused by Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1) while genital herpes are caused by Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2.
