because Adam was born with one extra rib so that he could give it up to make eve.

Maybe God took (a copy of) one side of the chromosomes, X from XY.

Tsela (Strong's Hebrew Dictionary) means rib or side.

Wayne Simpson wrote: If we look closely at the

Hebrew word for rib we will learn of something quite surprising. The word translated rib in Genesis 2 is tsela. This word is used in a number of other places in The Bible and

its meaning is shown to be quite different than what we have imagined. The only other

place in the Bible where the English word rib occurs is in Daniel 7:5, translated from an

altogether different Hebrew word. One Bible translation dares to break with the use of the traditional word rib. The Stone edition of the Chumash renders the verse this way:

" ...and He took one of his sides and He filled in the flesh in its place."

I guess God took both, rib or side and X-chromosome. Anyway. If I lose my hands by accident and get a child after that, I guess my child would not born handless.

Wonderful rib. Read more.
