(Sciatica is a condition involving pain, weakness, numbness, or tingling in the leg. It is caused by an injury to or compression of the sciatic nerve which branches down your back. The sciatic nerve is commonly injured by fractures of the pelvis, gunshot wounds, or other trauma to the buttocks or thigh. Prolonged sitting or lying with pressure on the buttocks may also injure it. )
The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body; it runs from your lower back, through your buttock, down your leg.
The tibial and fibular nerves originate from spinal segments L4-S3. The two nerves come together and are referred to jointly as the sciatic (meaning hip) nerve. The sciatic nerve is the largest peripheral nerve in the body. They separate at the back of the knee. The tibial nerve supplies the posterior compartment of the leg and the fibular supplies the anterior and lateral compartments.
The sciatic nerve are nerve roots coming out of the spinal cord and into the lower back.
It is unlikely that a small quarter-sized lump on your back could directly cause back spasms, leg numbness, and sciatic pain. These symptoms are more commonly associated with nerve irritation or compression, such as with a bulging disc or sciatic nerve impingement. It is recommended to see a healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and diagnosis.
what medication to take for sciatic nerve pain. already tried ibuprofen, aleve and ibuprofen. A better question is what is causing the pain. If you have tried those medications and had no relief you should see your Doctor for further investigations. An MRI can show up slipped discs, bulging and disc protrusion and nerve compression. Once the cause of the problem is identified, new options for treatment can be used.
Sciatica is caused by a nerve being trapped in your lower back. The nerve in your case is the sensory nerve which goes to your left thigh. Your brain is therfore getting pain signals that seem to come from your thigh even though the problem is further up the nerve. Go and see a Doctor for help.
The nerve at the back of the eye is the optic nerve. It transmits visual information from the retina to the brain, allowing us to see. Damage to the optic nerve can result in vision problems or even blindness.
You would be unlikely to see nerve cells dividing, as they are primarily post-mitotic and do not typically undergo cell division in adults.
The Sciatic Nerve is located in the lower back , runs through the buttock and down the lower legs - see related link for a diagram .

If you have these symptoms you need to see a doctor. I have never heard that a pinched sciatic nerve would have that effect.
The sciatic nerve. See Genesis ch.32.

Yes it can because the sciatic nerve runs from the low back down to the sole of the foot. If this nerve is pinched then you can experience weakness in the legs. You need to see your doctor for this symptom.
Pregnancy symptoms are different for everyone, but sciatic nerve pain is a very common one. As your pelvis widens to make room for the baby, your sciatic nerve on one or both sides of your body can become pinched, causing pain or numbness in your lower back, hips, and/or legs. For treatment, it is safe to take Tylenol during pregnancy, or you can use warm compresses on the affected area. If pain continues or is severe, see if your OB/GYN will refer you to a chiropractor, who may be able to help. Just be sure to inform him or her that you are pregnant before adjustments.

It could be sciatica caused by pain in the sciatic nerve. The only help is pain killers and rest. Note - If it's persistent, see your GP.
See a doctor. Pregancy can often cause pains and aches which are unexplainable and common, not harmful. But, still see your doctor.
Some treatments for sciatic pain are to see a spine doctor and see if they can prescribe a medicine painkiller, or help with surgical or non-surgical methods to help relieve pain.
