Yes it is possible. Each person has two copies of the gene for blood type (one from mom, one from dad) and gives one of those two copies to the baby.
There are three possible genes for those two positions: A, B, O. If you have A and O, you will be A; if you have B and O, you will be B. So it is possible for Mom to have type A and really be genes A,O and give baby her O gene, while Dad has blood type B with genes B,O and also gives baby his O gene, making baby O,O or type O.

Yes. The blood group depends on which two genes(one from the mother and one from the father) you have; there are three different genes that encodes for three different antigens attached to the surface of the red blood cell: A, B and O. Since O is recessive and both A and B are dominant, you'll need to receive the O-gene from both your parents to make it show - the father has obviously got two. If the mother in this case has the genotype AO, there is a possibility that the child may get the O-type, but if she's got two genes encoding A: AA, the O-gene from the father will be suppressed and the child's bloodtype will be A (genotype AO).

The minus after the A in the question only shows that the mother is negative for the Rhesus antigen, and has nothing to do with the ABO-system.

Yes it is possible. The answer is similar to the reason two brown-eyed parents can have a blue-eyed child. Blood type occurs by inheriting one type from each parent. Using basic genetics someone with type A can be AA or AO . If the child's parents are AO and BO then the child can be AO, BO, AB or OO. The child has I believe a 1 in 4 chance of any of the 4 types occurring. The only possibilities that can be excluded are AA and BB.
