Yes if and only if either parent carries a recessive trait for Hazel eyes. In other words, if a grandparent or even a great-grandparent on either side has hazel eyes then YES the chances of having a child with hazel eyes OR even their children having hazel eyes is VERY possible.
They can be ANY color. It depends on your parents eyes too. It depends on how the genes are gonna work.
It's difficult to predict with certainty, as eye color is a complex genetic trait. However, based on basic genetics, there is a possibility that the baby could have hazel eyes, as hazel is a dominant trait over blue.
My husband and I both have dark brown eyes. There are eyes of blue, green, hazel and brown on both our sides of the family. Our firstborn has blue eyes. Our second born has dark brown eyes. Our third and last born has hazel eyes.
The baby could have either green or brown eyes, as eye color is determined by a combination of genetic factors. If both parents carry a gene for green eyes, there is a chance the baby could inherit that trait. However, if the brown-eyed parent passes on both brown-eyed genes, then the baby will likely have brown eyes.
Since things like eye color are genetic, they can be passed down from generation to generation and even skip generations. My wife has green eyes, I have brown and our three children's eyes are all different to varing degrees. Yes they are all mine! Eye color changes in babies too. All three of mine had grey eyes when they were born and then turned light blue and changed again as they got older. One child has brown, one has hazel and one has green. I have friends where one parent has blue and the other brown and their children have hazel.
hazel
most likely brown
no
They can and do.
because hazel is recessive, and brown is dominant. meaning that brown overrules hazel, but hazel is still there in at least one of the parents' genetic make up. then the hazel can show up later.
well there is really no way to tell what your baby will look like. if you have brown eyes and brown hair than your baby will probably have that. if you have black hair and hazel eyes, your baby will probably have that.
Yes, it happened with my dad. His dad had blue eyes and his mom has brown eyes and he ended up with hazel.
Possible, but might turn out hazel
actually, colors are usually not mixed when you have two different colors of eyes from parents. You may have green or gray. Or blue or brown, if the geine was ever in your family. It depends on which geine gets to your DNA first.
a baby's appearance can be brought from several generations prior to you or your partner. just because neither of you have hazel eyes doesnt mean your baby wont there might be a great great grandparent that had hazel eyes. For example my husband has brown eyes and mine are hazel but my daughters eyes are blue like my fathers.
your great grandfather has nothing to do with it.
