i can't fully answer your question because the idea that the synthroid i was taking has been the cause of two large dark brown spots on both sides of my face which I've had to repeatedly treat with painfull laser treatment, not to mention the others located in various spots, is new to me.

That being said, i did find the following comment on a web page.

"L-tyrosine is converted by skin cells into melanin, the dark pigment that protects against the harmful effects of ultraviolet light. Thyroid hormones, which have a role in almost every process in the body, also contain tyrosine as part of their structure."

and since synthroid is a replacement for thyroid hormones, I'm guessing its a yes.

and if you do decide to treat the spots, if they are the same as mine, regular laser treatments do not work, you have to get the ones for hard to treat ones. its supposedly similar to a pregnancy mask.
