Influenza is highly contagious and is easily transmitted through contact with droplets from the nose and throat of an infected person during coughing and sneezing. There's no documentation of the influenza virus being transmitted through semen or vaginal fluids. However, because of close physical contact and shared respiratory space, the likelihood of transmitting influenza during the act of intercourse is quite high. But it is not classified as a sexually transmitted disease.
Spread of the virus
