While what the soul is or whether it exists is widely debated, if humans have a soul, then there is no conceivable way to trap or funnel such a supernatural entity into another place and "attach" it to another body. If there is no soul, then your personality is based on your brain's physical makeup and the only way to transfer one's "spirit" would be to perfectly recreate a functional version of a person's brain and perfectly install it into another body.
