They both require a trans membrane protein.

Facilitated diffusion does not require energy whereas active transport requires energy.

Facilitated diffusion takes place when there is a net movement of molecules from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration whereas active transport takes place when there is a net movement of molecules from a region of low concentration to a region of high concentration.

Active transport and facilitated diffusion are different in many ways but one way they are similar is they both use transport protein. A way they are different is facilitated diffusion does not require energy input from the cell while active transport does require energy input from the cell. Another way is facilitated diffusion is classified as passive transport, unlike active transport which is classified as active transport. The last way they differ is for the direction of movement facilitated diffusion goes with concentration gradient, while active transport goes against concentration gradient.

simple diffusion and facilitated diffusion are similar and different

similarity : both of them helps the passage of molecules down their concentration gradient ( from higher concentration to lower concentration ) and no energy required in both

difference : facilitated diffusion might use carrier proteins to help move molecules such as glucose through the plasma membrane or channel proteins to move water rapidly (aquaporin)

Compare and contrast between osmosis and facilitated diffusion?

Osmosis is when a solvent moves from a lower concentration to a higher concentration. Facilitated diffusion is when a solvent moves down the concentration gradient through carrier molecules.

Compare and contrast active transport and facilitated diffusion-?

Active transport moves solutes against their concentration gradient; facilitated diffusion moves substances down their concentration gradient.

Diffusion with a channel protein?

They are the channels by which molecules enter in facilitated diffusion.

What is a protein moves molecules across a membrane?

Facilitated diffusion moves molecules through cell membranes passively.

Are aquaporins involved in osmosis or facilitated diffusion?

facilitated diffusion

How does Facilitated diffusion differs from diffusion in that facilitated diffusion?

Facilitated diffusion uses integrated proteins that act as channels for ions or molecules to pass through.

Is facilitated diffusion active?

No. Facilitated diffusion is a type of passive transport.

Does glucose enters a cell most rapidly by facilitated diffusion?

it enters most rapidly by facilitated diffusion!!

What is the diffusion of water through the cell membrane is called?

Facilitated Diffusion

Does osmosis or facilitated diffusion require the presence of membrane channels?

facilitated diffusion

Three types of passive transport?

There are three forms of passive transport, or the movement of biochemical and other atomic or molecular substances across the cell membranes. They are: osmosis, simple diffusion or facilitated diffusion, and filtration.

Is osmosis an example of facilitated diffusion or active transport?

No. Facilitated diffusion is an example of passive transport because it does not require the cell to expend energy.
