Eukaryotes (e.g. - animals, plants, fungi) store DNA inside the cell nucleus. Prokaryotes (e.g. - bacteria) store DNA inside the cell's nucleus. Inside chromosomes, chromatin proteins like histones compact and organize the DNA. SOURCE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA

Two places: the DNA that gives instruction for the construction of the person is inside the nucleus and there is also mitochondrial DNA in the outside of the nucleus in the cytoplasm (the fluid filling of the cell). Mitochondria are cell organelles in the cytoplasm of eukariotic cells that generate adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is used as a source of energy. It is believed that mitochondria were bacteria that were absorbed during the evolution of the eukariotic cell. They produce their own DNA and replicate themselves separate from the DNA of the host cell. This is why mitochondrial DNA is inherited only from the mother.

What part of the cell is dna found in?

DNA is stored in the chromosomes, which are found in the cell nucleus.

What are the three biological molecules in the cell that DNA must be separated from?

The three biological molecules in the cell that DNA must be separated from are the cell membrane, lipids, and enzymes. The DNA is found in the nucleus of the cell.

What part of the plant cell controls what happens inside?

The nucleus controls what happens inside the cell. Nucleus contains genetic information in its chromosomes. DNA and RNA are the nucleic acids found in the nucleus. The genetic information coded in the DNA molecules is interpreted through RNA to control the cell metabolism. The nucleus controls what happens inside the cell. Where in a cell would you find a genetic information?

In eukaryots, DNA would be found inside the nucleus, though other molecules that carry genetic information such as some types of RNAs can be found outside the nucleus. In prokaryotes, DNA occures both in plasmids (circular DNA other than the 'main' genome of bacteria) and DNA clumped in a nucloid, which isn't like the nucleus eukaryotic cells have. Prokaryotes also have RNA in their cytoplasm.

A structure found in the nucleus that is made of DNA?

Chromosomes - structures composed of DNA and proteins found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. Chromosomes carry the genetic material. Chromosomes - structures composed of DNA and proteins found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. Chromosomes carry the genetic material.

Where is the DNA of a cell found?

Its inside the nucleus and near the nucleolus.

What is the difference between DNA strands and DNA nucleus?

There is no such thing called a DNA nucleus. I assume you mean DNA found in the nucleus. The DNA that's found in the nucleus are many DNA strands all bunched up.

What is located in the nucleus and contain DNA?

Technically the nucleus is the major part of a cell that holds the DNA of a cell, but it does sepatare into a form of multiple linear molecules of DNA that merge into the chromosomes. So, basically the nucleus and chromosomes contain DNA.

How is chromosomes related to DNA?

Chromosomes house DNA, and they both can be found in the nucleus of any cell.
