There are five, but I will except prometaphase for simplicity.

Prophase: The chromosomes are condensing, the nuclear envelope is dissipating and the centosomes are headed for the poles of the cell.

Metaphase: The chromosomes are fully condensed and lining up on the metaphase plate ( the middle of the cell ) and the centrosomes are in position and microtubules are attaching themselves to the lined up chromosomes.

Anaphase: In this phase the cetrosomes's microtubules are pulling the sets of duplicated chromosomes to opposite poles of the cell. A long process.

Telophase: In this phase the sets of chromosomes are at opposite poles and the nuclear envelopes are reforming around the chromosomes. The spindle apparatus of the cetrosomes is dissolving. In animal cells cytokenesis is taking place and splitting the cell into two daughter cells. On plants a cell wall forms between the two daughter cells.

Simplified version.

What are three stages of the cell cycle and the four phases of mitosis?

The three stages of the cell cycle are interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis. The four phases of mitosis are prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. In mitosis, the cell's nucleus divides into two identical daughter nuclei.

What are all the phases in the cell cycle?

The cell cycle has four distinct phases which are the G1 phase, S phase, G2 phase, and M phase (Mitosis). The term interphase is a collective term that is used to describe the G1, S, and G2 phases.

What are the four parts of mitosis?

The four parts of mitosis are prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. In prophase, the genetic material condenses into chromosomes. During metaphase, the chromosomes line up along the metaphase plate. Anaphase involves the separation of sister chromatids, and in telophase, the nuclear membrane reforms and the chromosomes decondense.

What are the four phases of mitosis in order?

The four phases of mitosis are prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. During prophase, the chromosomes condense and nuclear envelope breaks down. In metaphase, the chromosomes align at the metaphase plate. Anaphase is characterized by the separation of sister chromatids towards opposite poles. Telophase involves the formation of two new nuclei and the chromosomes decondensing.

What stage in mitosis does the chromosomes uncoil happen?

During the telophase phase, the chromosomes begin to uncoil. There are six phases with mitosis and telophase is number four.

Cytoplasmic division of animal cells is accomplished by?

Cytokinesis is the division of cells in plants. In animals, it is called Mitosis. Mitosis has several phases, and in the end, there are four new daughter cells.
