∙ 11y agoNo, as far as I can tell from definition, and as far as rupturing the cell, because definition of Merocrine is: "of or relating to a gland whose secretory cells remain undamaged during secretion".

∙ 13y agoNo, merocrine glands release their secretions through exocytosis, a process where secretory vesicles fuse with the cell membrane and release their contents. This ensures that the cell remains intact after secretion.

Follicles containing eggs rupture on the ovarian cortex each month during ovulation. When a follicle ruptures, it releases the mature egg into the fallopian tube for potential fertilization.
When the egg ruptures through the ovary wall, it is released into the fallopian tube. The egg then travels through the fallopian tube towards the uterus, where it may be fertilized by sperm if present.
Plasma Membrane is the outer covering of the cell that seperates its content from the surrounding medium. It is a selectively permeable membrane . If it rupture or breaks down the cytoplasm will come in direct contact with the surrounding medium and the act of selection will stop.
The mature follicle releases the oocyte into the fallopian tube during ovulation, not into an organ or gland. The fallopian tube is where fertilization typically occurs if sperm are present.
Graafian follicles are mature ovarian follicles that contain a developing oocyte. Their function is to produce estrogen and prepare the egg for ovulation. When the Graafian follicle ruptures during ovulation, it releases the egg into the fallopian tube for possible fertilization.
This process is called holocrine secretion, where the entire cell containing the secretory product ruptures to release its contents. This differs from merocrine secretion, where secretory products are released through exocytosis without cell damage.
It is rare to bleed, but it is possible. The rupture will most likely hemorrhage.
