Great question! Not as we do, with lungs. which is an active process, but they do breathe by a passive process. Both plants and animals carry on a process called respiration which occurs on a cellular level and involves an exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Plants mostly do this in their leaves, which in some ways are similar to our skin (which, incidentally, is the largest organ in our bodies).
The process by which all respiration takes place is called diffusion - plants 'breathe' through their leaves - the really cool thing is that they 'exhale' - ready? oxygen...which is why we want trees - because they breathe by 'inhaling' carbon dioxide and 'exhaling' oxygen for us to use in our bodies to do our own respiration.BTW - Animals breathe differently than plants. We do it in two places, in our lungs - as most people are aware - and also in our body tissues. Our lungs take in oxygen (that came from the plants respiration) and we put it in our blood, and at the same time release the carbon dioxide from the blood and put it into the atmosphere so the plants can use it. In addition, we also have a second type of breathing that occurs in all our bodies called tissue respiration. In our tissues, we take the oxygen from the blood and put it in the tissues, and at the same time take the carbon dioxide from the tissues and put it in the blood to be taken to the lungs.
Yes,plants do respire.During the day they utilize the atmospheric gases for photosynthesis. The oxygen produced as a by-product is utilized for respiration and the excess of the oxygen is given out. However,at night they use the atmospheric oxygen to respire giving out carbon dioxide.
Yes, plants respire all the time.
yes, plants dp respire. yes, plants dp respire.
A plant respirates through the stomata in its leaves. It also performs photosynthesis through the stomata as well.
Plants do respirate. They take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the air. If plants did not respirate, they would die.
Yes by absorbing co2
Yes. They both use cellular respiration to break down Glucose. However, only plants use Photosynethsis.
stomata is a tiny pores found in the leaves of the plant, but this is not the place where plants take oxygen from, but from the roots.
Oxygen, and it's known as "Photosynthesis" process But during the night, plants release carbon dioxide like a normal human
Yes, for humans, we let out carbon dioxide, but when plants let out something, it's oxygen
Clostridium botulinum and the bacteria which live near hydrothermal vents on the deep-sea ocean floor.
Plants need to photozynthesis during day does not enable them to respire.
All organisms respire. Plants do not breathe, but they respire. Animals breathe to respire.
not like humans but they do respiration but how do they respire then ?
All plants respire.
Plants also should respire every time. These are two separate biological processes
Respire
Plants
Yes, the can photosynthesize and respire at the same time.
Through respiration
They respire through out the day.
How am i supposed to know
The waste gas produced by plants as they respire is oxygen. This is why plants are very important to the earth. Without plants, there probably would not be enough oxygen in the air for all to breathe.
