No. They do appear to grow due to changes in the human body (when the skin dries, it "pulls back" from the nails). These changed give the illusion that the nails have grown, but in reality they do not.
No. Toenails are dead skin cells. No. Toenails are dead skin cells. Toenails are made of the protein keratin (exactly like fingernails). The few cells in this keratin are dead. However, the lunula (the white region near the base of the nail) is made of the (alive) cells that make this keratin.
Thus, this cannot be answered as a "yes" or "no", but rather as an "it depends what part of the fingernail you are talking about".
No, however they appear to. In reality, the surrounding tissue - the toes - dehydrate and shrivel, thus making them appear smaller in comparison to the toenails. This shrinking of the surrounding tissue gives the illusion that the toenails, fingernails, and hair continue to grow after death.
As long as the nail growth zone(some mm behind the cuticle) is OK, it should.
But it can take some months before you see it at all, and a full year for complete replacement.
Finger nails cannot grow after a person is dead. After a person passes away the body does not function.
They appear to "grow" because the tissue around them shrinks.
I really don't know
Fingernails and toenails are plates of stratified squamous epithelial cells with hard keratin that protect the distal ends of the phalanges. The phalanges are the finger bones. You are describing finger nails and toe nails. For some interesting nail facts: fingernails grow faster than toenails. The fingernails on the right hand of a right-handed person grow faster than those on their left hand.
Toe nails
Yes. The back feet have webs, the front has toes with no web.
They are on the finger and toe nails. posted by legomaster13
they are toe nail shaped as trumets
No an iguana can only grow its tail , toe and nails back
Toe's, toe nails, bunion's, blisters.
No toe could not grow back its impossible but a toe nail can grow back i think you have to wait 2 months for your toe nail to grow back
Yes because there spines are made of the same formula that our toe nails and hair are made of, so they grow slowly back but they do aventruly.
No your nails wont grow
People's finger nails and toe nails do not continue to grow after death, what happens is that the tissue surrounding the nails shrinks back and the nails appear to be longer
Yes. Your nails will always grow back, even if you lose them completely.
It seems as if Biotin makes a difference for all finger/toe nails...
Actually your finger nails grow 4x faster than your toe nails!!!!!!!!spaxton21- OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? MINE IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE!!!
No, they're usually a different size. No, your toes nails should be cut straight across to avoid ingrown toe nails, while your finger nails can be cut in a curved fashion. No, the nails on your hand grow out of your fingers, and your toe nails grow out of your toes. If they were the same, your fingers would be attached to your toes and you'd have a hard time walking or shaking hands.Yes, they're both made largely of keratin.
They don't. It's actually fingernails that grow faster than toe nails.. but why.. good question..
When you feel that the size of your toe nails are undesirable, unsightly, and/or uncomfortable. Since mine grow EXTREMELY slowly, I cut mine once a month. They usually get to about 1.5 cm before I cut them. No, I do not measure them. o_o
