It can cause damage to your teeth. Radioactive Iodine caused me to have a very dry mouth. For over a year I couldn't make very much saliva at all. That has led to erosion of enamel (without saliva to protect it) and now I just had to get my first filling ever not due to cavities, but due to holes in my tooth's enamel exposing nerves from losing enamel due to dry mouth caused by radioactive iodine treatment. It's been a week since the filling and starting grinding my teeth again (I feel stressed) and the same tooth has crumbled a little (IT HURTS!) and is soft due to radiation. I have brushed regularly, flossed, swished forever trying to prevent this. If your mouth is even slightly feeling dry (I didn't notice it that bad at first, I was just really thirsty. The thirst was because my mouth was drying out.) Avoid alcohol and alcohol based mouthwashes. Use something like Rincinol or Aloclair. I've at least done damage control down to one tooth affected. Best wishes!
Teeth are not stronger than bones. Bones are denser and harder than teeth, making them stronger overall.
The manbidle, or jaw bone, holds the inferior teeth and the maxilla, the bone behind the top lip, holds the superior teeth.
The teeth are supported by the jaw bones, specifically the maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw). These bones provide the structure and foundation for the teeth to attach to, as well as support the surrounding soft tissues such as gums and muscles.
Mineral salts from calcium and phosphorus compounds are essential for making bones hard and strong. calcium is the most essential mineral to make bones strong but not all bones are as hard as you think some bones are "Spongy" but we just dont notice it. hope this helps if you need to know this....
The minerals found in human teeth and bones that give them their hardness and strength belong to a mineral family known as biological apatites. The apatites found in tooth enamel, dentin and bone have slightly different compositions and therefore have different physical and mechanical properties. The biological apatites are forms of calcium hydroxyapatite, which has the formula Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2.
Iodine does not make your teeth shine. In fact, iodine can stain your teeth and cause discoloration if used in excessive amounts. It is not recommended to use iodine for dental purposes.
calcium are your bones and teeth
No, teeth aren't bones.
Technically, yes dogs can chew on steel bones. However, this is a very bad idea as it will damage their jaws and teeth badly.
Yes. Teeth are actually bones!
Calcium is in your bones and teeth; potassium is in your kidneys and blood; iron is in your blood (as part of haemoglobin); iodine makes its way to the thyroid gland in your neck.
