The Inferior vena cava - just like the Superior vena cava -, returns blood to the heart.

When blood is returning to the heart, that blood is already circulated in the body, therefore it is already downloaded the oxygen to the body tissues, and picked up the carbon dioxide from them.

From the vena cava (superior and inferior), the blood enters the heart (right atrium), is pumped into the right ventricle, and then pumped into the lungs (through the Pulmonary Arteries), where carbon dioxide is exchanged for oxygen.

So, the blood in the vena cava is deoxygenated.

What chamber in a frog's heart contains both oxygenated and deoxygenated blood?

The right heart chambers (atrium and ventricle) contain deoxygenated blood. The left heart chambers contain oxygenated blood, since this blood has already been through the pulmonary system.

Does the pulmonary trunk contain oxygenated blood or deoxygenated blood?

De-Oxygenated blood. The pulmonary artery is one of the only arteries that carry de-oxygenated blood.

Do vein carries oxygnated blood into the heart?

Not usually, the veins contain deoxygenated blood and the arteries contain oxygenated blood. The exception is the pulmonary vein which contains oxygenated blood from the lungs and into the heart.

Does the atrium have depxgyenated blood?

Does the right atrium in the body contain oxygenated or dexoygenated blood?

The right atrium receives deoxygenated blood, then the blood moves into the right ventricle. So both of them receive deoxygenated blood. Once the blood returns from the lungs it is oxygenated and comes into the heart through the pulmonary veins into the left atrium then to the left ventricle then out to the body.

What colour is blood when it does not contain oxygen?

Deoxygenated blood is a darker red color compared to oxygenated blood. This is because of the lower levels of oxygen and higher levels of carbon dioxide present in deoxygenated blood.

What blood Vessels carry blood toward the heart?
