∙ 12y agoYes, it acts as a filter for the blood. It also stores white blood cells and platelets. It recycles old red blood cells and helps fight pneumonia.

∙ 11y agoNo! Although the spleen is a secondary lymphatic organ, it only filters blood cells (including platelets) rather than lymph.
