voluntary oral stage
The Pharyngeal stage of deglutition - the bolus hits the pharynx and triggers reflexes (from this point it is no longer voluntary) --> the soft palate is raised, the glottis closed and the pharynx shortened --> pharyngeal constrictors move bolus into the oesophagus
Crossing over occurs during the prophase I stage of meiosis, not during mitosis.
Homologous chromosomes pair up during the process of cell division in a stage called prophase I of meiosis.
Carbon fixation takes place during the Calvin cycle, which is the second stage of photosynthesis. In this process, carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is converted into organic compounds by using the energy obtained from light-dependent reactions.
CytokinesisTelophase is the last stage of mitosis. Cytokinesis is the last stage of cell division.
Only while it is still in the mouth.

There are 4 steps in the swallowing process; oral preparatory stage, oral stage, pharyngeal stage and esophageal stage.
Deglutition, or swallowing, consists of three stages: oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal. During the oral stage, the food is chewed and formed into a bolus before being voluntarily pushed to the back of the mouth. In the pharyngeal stage, the swallow reflex is triggered to move the bolus through the pharynx and into the esophagus. Finally, in the esophageal stage, peristalsis helps transport the food down the esophagus and into the stomach.
The mouth bolus is a semi-solid mass of chewed food mixed with saliva that forms in the mouth before swallowing. Chyme, on the other hand, is a semi-liquid mixture of partially digested food and digestive juices found in the stomach and small intestine. Feces are the solid waste product that remains after the digestion and absorption of nutrients, consisting of undigested food, bacteria, and other waste materials. Each of these food forms represents a different stage in the digestive process.
