"A chemical property is the property of a substance that describes it's ability to undergo changes to its composition to produce one ore more NEW substance."

- Nelson Science Peerspectives Textbook

If you decide to toss your jeans into the fire they will burn causing a new substance we commonly know as ashes. So this means that the jeans had a chemical property, combustibility or flammability, that changed its compostion to produce a new substance.

How are physical and chemical properties of matter useful?

Physical and chemical properties of matter are useful because they can help you identify that substance. For example paper burns very easily and aluminum doesn't, this is how they can be described individually.

How will you identify the physical properties from chemical properties of water?

1 = when we mix the water with the benzene or any other non polar solvents it does"t miscible with that, this is a chemical reaction from this reaction we can say water has polar properties 2 from above we can say water is polar , in polar solvents inter atomic attractions are more due to this it has high MP like these we can explain all properties
