GENERALIZED TRANSDUCTION- Is the type of transduction in which a fragment of DNA from the degraded chromosome of an infected bacteria cell is accidentally incorporated into a new phage particle during viral replication and thereby transfered to another bacterial cell.

specialized- is the type in which the bacterial DNA transduced is limited to one or a few genes lying adjacent to a pro-phage that are accidentally included when the phage is excised from the bacterial chromosome.

in case of generalized transduction any fragment from the bacterial chromosome(along with the integrated viral chromosome-pro phage) can be inserted into the newly formed virus While in specialized transduction only specific genes from the prophage are transferred into the newly formed virus particle

Specialized transduction differs from regular lysogeny in one main way. In specialized transduction, the prophage carries chromosomal DNA, which it does not do in lysogeny.

What is pathophysiology of convulsion?

Seizures are paroxysmal manifestations of the electrical properties of the cerebral cortex. A seizure results when a sudden imbalance occurs between the excitatory and inhibitory forces within the network of cortical neurons in favor of a sudden-onset net excitation. If the affected cortical network is in the visual cortex, the clinical manifestations are visual phenomena. Other affected areas of primary cortex give rise to sensory, gustatory, or motor manifestations. The pathophysiology of focal-onset seizures differs from the mechanisms underlying generalized-onset seizures. Overall, cellular excitability is increased, but the mechanisms of synchronization appear to substantially differ and are therefore discussed separately.
