In the alveoli gaseous exchange occurs this is when the carbon dioxide from the capillaries is exchanged for the oxygen you inhaled. When in the capillaries the red blood cells absorbs the oxygen and transports it around the body until all the oxygen is absorbed by the body it is then brought backed to the lungs where gaseous exchange occurs again.
