Plants ingest carbon dioxide, CO2 and convert into Oxygen. Since there is an excess of CO2 and an excess of other harmful gasses, it is necessary to have plants on land and in the water. CO2, SO2, and NO are typical air pollutants given off by power plants, cars, computers, lights, and even by animals. Their fine in moderation since they are naturally given off by the earth. However, the human population, being very unthoughtful and arrogant, refused this fact. So, in turn Global Warming happened.
SAV's (sub-aquatic vegetation) take in oxygen from the atmosphere, too (Dissolved Oxygen). In fact, a major part of the CO2 taken in is from the ocean to the SAV's. However, due to algae blooms, SAV's are smothered by dead algae and are deprived of light, causing them to die. Water run-off causes these algae blooms. Eutrophication: look it up.
Aquatic and land-based plants are not only just vegetation but are also habitats for animals. The death of plants leads to the death of smaller animals and fish and, soon enough, the endangerment and death of species of animals, which can include major prey and predators. So, plants help convert toxic gases into clean air. However, it's not like every plant is able to breathe in and convert each ton of CO2 into O2. The rate of photosynthesis plateaus, and high temperatures bring down the rate of photosynthesis. Global warming... Yeah And it's not like over-development of buildings is helping anyway...
D: A healthy ecosystem = a healthy earth
It's to bad that such proactiveness runs low, even by me, answering your question by now.
Trees and plants absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it until they are burnt or they decay. So the more trees there are the better for the environment, as carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases which are causing the planet to warm.
They provide the oxygen essential for life. They give us oxygen.
Because photosynthesis creates oxygen, it helps the environment by basically swapping out polluted oxygen with fresh, new oxygen.
They help pollinate plants and provide a food source for for animals such as birds and small reptiles.
plants can be medicinal, proteins & vitamins, keep our environment healthy
Growing deep into the soil, being flexible but tough, and having thin and needle-like leaves are the adaptations that might help the plant survive in a windy environment.
All that i know is saprophytes help in decaying of matter in the soil.it also releases some chemicals during the process of its feeding, which are used by the plants to grow. i hope it helped you!
the organism act in response to their environment
Fertile land grows plants more easily. We eat these plants which help us to grow, and if we don't eat these plants we will not grow, will not get the nutrients that these plants give us and we will grow sick and eventually, die.
It depends on what aspect of the environment you are looking to improve. In any environment, it is the native species which are the best.
Help us to breath.
Long whiskers to help improve their senses
well plants provide oxygen, oxygen helps us to live.
it can't because plants are not robots
Plats reduce global warming and since global warming is related to ozone depletion. Thus plants improve ozone depletion.
i wanted to know
Plants and trees have a major role in keeping the environment clean. This is because they help to clean the air using photosynthesis.
they provide shelter for the environmental animals and plants. YEAH!!!
Inorganic fertilizers are used to improve the production of cereals and other edible plants. They also can improve the quality of soils. But the abuse or incompetent use of fertilizers must be avoided; pollution of the environment is the consequence.
Plants and trees take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen and so help clean the air.
