Fungus's and mushrooms in general get their organic carbon source from decaying matter, so that's why they grow on logs and other decaying tree matter. They throw out compounds, usually proteins, to break down the matter and uptake it. Very important in an ecosystem and they have been around much longer than us and will probably will be after we are gone. They serve as one of the garbage men! I hope that makes since seeing I'm completely plastered haha.
In a log ecosystem, dead wood may serve as a habitat for various decomposers such as fungi, bacteria, insects, and other invertebrates, which break down the wood material. This decomposition process is essential for nutrient recycling in forest ecosystems, contributing to soil health and supporting the growth of new plants and trees. Additionally, the decaying log may provide shelter and nesting sites for small animals and birds.
For most applications in laboratory life science, it is well known that one should always use cells in log phase of growth. This phase of population growth indicates to the user that the cells are dividing at the most rapid rate, are not overcrowded and generally well nourished.
A dead tree may still appear to be alive due to remaining intact and standing upright even after it has died. However, the tree is no longer performing functions essential for life, such as transporting water and nutrients or photosynthesis. Without these processes, the tree is considered dead even if it maintains its structure.
Im Pretty sure they eat dead things like a dead log or rat.
It is a type of seed that comes from a tree. While it is on the tree, it is living.
wild mushrooms get nutrient from it
the dead log is made up of cell.but the rocks are not made up of cell.
Fungi lack chlorophyll, the structure that allows normal plants to undergo photosynthesis. They instead grow on rotting vegetation because they can then feed off the energy the dying plants had.
They MUST log sustainably and must not log as fast as trees are growing. They must not log the area where isn't allowed to log which finally means irregular.
They grow in dark damp places such as logs or shady patches of grass, so they take water from the log or grass
Fungi. Bugs. Growing grass.
no
depends in what surrounding if their on a dead log they will
Assignment Underwater - 1960 Dead-Log Pickup 1-8 was released on: USA: 28 October 1960
they're probably somewhere in /var/log
Its a part of a tree that is dead and rotting away.
If your webkinz is dead, you can't log in, but if it expired only a few days before, I think you can still save it.
