Predation and parasitism are similar because they both have one organism feeding on another. The difference is that in predation the organism kills the other ,while in parasitism, the organism feeds on it while letting it live.
For example, a lion can't eat an antelope if it lets it live (predation), but a flea can't feed on a dog if the dog isn't alive (parasitism).
Both are similar only in one sense that both have two organisms and these both are the association for food, shelter or support. Mutualism is the association in which both the organism get benefited. Parasitism is the kind of association in which one organism which is parasite takes the benefit of the other which is known as host in this host is harmed by parasite. Parasitism is mainly for food but some time for support also as in some plants.
* In mutualistic symbiosis, both the symbian and the host have benefits. * In parasitic symbiosis, only the parasite has benefits, while the hostdoesn't.
Parasitism is a one-way relationship in which the parasite lives within or on another organism. The relationship benefits the parasite but not the host organism, which may be weakened or exposed to disease. Ticks, fleas, tapeworms, bloodsucking leeches, and mistletoes are some of many examples of parasites.
Mutualism is a two-way relationship between organisms with benefits on both sides. For example, to achieve pollination many plants need the services of an animal which is rewarded with food in the form of nectar.
Difference: mutualism- are two organisms that gets benefits from each other. example: a plant and a butterfly.... commensalism- are two organisms that the other organism gets benefits but the other organism is not affected example:a hookworm inside a man.....
Parasitism is a one-way relationship while mutualism is a two-way relationship
. They all deal with biotic factor(living things)
. Type of symbiotic
i
There are 3 the 1st one is Mutualism Then Commensalism and Finally Parasitism
They are all forms of symbiosis
The three types of symbiosis are... Mutualism: A relationship in which both species benefit. Commensalism: A relationship in which one species benefits and the other species is neither helped nor harmed. Commensalism is not very common in nature because two species are usually either helped or harmed a little by any interaction. Parasitism: A relationship that involves one organism living on or inside another organism and harming it. The organism the benefits is called a parasite, and the organism it lives on or in is called a host. The paraite is usually smaller that the host. In a parasitic relationship, the parasite benefits from the interaction while the host is harmed. Unlike a predator, a parasite does not usually kill the organism it feed on. If the host dies, the parasite loses its source of food.
The four types of symbiotic relationships is mutualism, commensalism, parasitism, and neutralism. In mutualism, both organisms benefit. In commensalism, one species benefits while they other is unaffected. Parasitism is where one species benefits and the other is harmed. In neutralism neither species is harmed or benefits.
A relationship in which both species benefit is called mutualism. This is a symbiotic relationship between two organisms. The others are commensalism and parasitism."symbiosis"
