DNA is something like hair or finger prints, it makes it easier to find the suspect because only one person in the world can have a specific pattern on their finger. Even twins have different ones. Hair can be very different to someone elses. The more clues that direct to one suspect make it easier to find the truth.

DNA evidence (bodily excretions, hair, or skin) collected at a crime scene is compared with samples collected from the suspect/defendant and scientifically processed one against the other to determine if they match. It is scientifically proven that the odds of two people having the same DNA profile is 100's of millions to one.

The DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) of each individual is distinctly different from that of every other person. As DNA is present in every cell of the human body, and the cells are shedded continuously from the skin, DNA found at a crime scene may originate from a suspect. DNA tests and the comparison of the results can then determine of the DNA is from the suspect or not, and is strong forensic evidence in court - so long as the DNA was found on, ie. a murder weapon, or the victim themselves.

Each persons DNA is different... even twins. When you put DNA in a HPLC you will be able to find the certain characteristics of DNA and match it to any persons DNA you already have in your system.

When using chromatography you have computer software. In that software you can keep a library of certain samples. Lets say you have a criminal and you have his DNA. Lets say he commits a crime and you need to prove that he did it. Well you can match the DNA from the crime scene that is his and put it through the HPLC. The HPLC will then match the crime scene DNA with the DNA you have stored in your software.
