If the object in question is water proof, and small enough. You can measure the amount of displaced water when it is placed in a tank full of water, this may not work for a lot of things but it can help when attempting to measure some objects.

First, you need to get a graduated cylinder filled up with water and record the volume.Next, you put an irregularly object into a graduated cylinder fill with water. Then, you measure the volume of the graduated cylinder with the irregularly shaped object in it.Finally, you subtract the highest volume which was the volume of the graduated cylinder with the irregularly shaped object in it by the regular volume of the graduated cylinder which is the smallest volume and there's your answer.

Fill a graduated cylinder with a known amount of water, submerge object and record the new increased volume on the cylinder. Take the final volume minus the starting volume to get the volume of the irregularly shaped object.

When is displacement used?

It is used to find the volume of an irregularly shaped object. An object dropped into a volume of water will displace an equal volume of water.

How will you find the volume of an irregularly shaped object that would dissolve in water?

Use volume displacement method.

How do you get the volume of an irregularly shaped object?

Using a graduated beaker, add water sufficent to totally immerse the object. Note the initial volume of the water without the object. Put the irregularly-shaped object in the beaker and note the final volume. The difference between the final and initial readings is the volume of the object. This is only possible if the object is not soluble in water. If it is, use some other fluid in which it is not soluble.

How do you measure an irregularly shaped object?

Do you mean volume? If possible drop the item in a measured volume of water or other liquid and remeasure the volume, then subract the to numbers to get the volume of the item.

How do you determine the volume of an irregularly shaped object like a mineral?

Submerge the object in a known volume of liquid within a container with graduation markings. Carefully turn the object to release and trapped gases from concavities. Measure the new volume of liquid with the object submerged and subtract the original volume. The difference is the volume of the irregularly shaped object. If the object is buoyant, choose a lower density liquid or hold the object beneath the surface with a rod or rods, noting the length of rod(s) submerged at the time of the second fluid measurement, then subtract the volume of rod submerged from the difference in the two fluid volumes.

A technique used to calculate the volume of irregularly shaped solids?

To calculate the volume of an irregularly shaped object, a good idea would be to get a bucket full of water and submerge that object into the bucket. Then measure the amount of water that runs over and that should be the volume of your object. For example if you take a sealed bottle of bottle stick it in a bucket filled with water, then let it's volume filll the space and displace the water. The water that is displaced or the water that runs out is the volume of your irregular shape. Get it?

Mass divided by Volume = Density. Or use the displacement method for an irregularly shaped object.

What is the principle involved in the determination of the volume of an irregularly shaped solid and explain?

When an object is immersed in water the volume of water displaced is equal to the volume of that object as discovered by Archimedes.

How the volume of an irregullar solid can be determined?

By water displacement. Pour a certain volume of water into a graduated cylinder, and record that volume. Now, place the irregularly shaped object into the cylinder, and record the level to which the water now rises. Take the difference between those two volumes, and you now have the volume of your irregularly shaped object.
