Squeeze the pit gently, like a pimple. Some discharge will come out - usually quite smelly. Sometimes using a tissue helps, as it's not as sharp as using fingernails.
Being gentle is a must! Too much squeezing can cause bruising or infection.
Depending on how much discharge your pit collects, squeezing twice a week should be ok.
