In hypothermia, your body will first start to create friction for heat by your muscles shivering. Then when that doesnt work your body will actually take the blood from your fingers and toes (because your body knows those arent necessary for life) and will deliver the blood to the vital organs like the heart and brain. [so if you survive hypothermia you might lost fingers or toes or arms or hands or feet or legs] Then the body will start to slow down and you will lose conciseness and die from the cold.
Hypothermia can occur when someone is cold and doesn't do anything about it so they will start to shiver and have cold sweats. If they still don't do anything they will stop shivering and then they will over hear and become too hot and then they have to strip down to the last clothing as they can to prevent it getting any worse.
They may come confused and start to feel sleepy if someone alts try's to talk to them their speech may become slow or slurred, they may start shallow breathing and they may have a weak pulse. This can also cause low blood pressure by this point someone should have called for help.
If the person starts to cough or sneeze sit them up so they do not choke on anything as they are no longer in control of their body. If the person starts to complain about having headache or anything like that they should not be given medicine or anything like that (e.g. paracetamol, headache tablets, etc.) This is because when help arrives they will give the person what they need and if someone has given that person something and they do not know they could end up overdosing the patient.

Hypothermia means "low temperature". The treatment for mild cases is just to warm the person back up... get them out of any wet clothing they may be wearing, into dry clothing if some is available, and bundle them up in a blanket or sleeping bag with someone else to help bring their temperature back to normal.
(At one time, it was recommended that both the victim and the helper take off all clothing to maximize the rate of heat transfer; I don't think this is still the preferred treatment, though.)
If you're in a more civilized setting, you could also use a warm (not hot) bath; bundling up with someone else is a method you might use for first aid "in the field".
To recover from hypothermia, one will need to first bring the body temperature slowly up to a normal level. Then, treat any wounds that appear on the skin, especially the skin of the hands and feet.
