Walk away from your problem, and then discuss it later calmly with the person that made you angry and maybe a few others.

At the time, just try and think about something else. Like if your friend said something that made you really angry, don't start yelling and shouting- go away and talk with someone else, then the next day, when you've calmed down, talk about it slowly and quietly, until you have a sensible solution.

Or if they have been saying or doing things upsetting you a lot, maybe just don't go back at all.

To let out anger, you can go to a deserted place and scream loudly. That may help. Don't do anything dangerous or irrational where 'dangerous' may include 'running as hard and fast as you can'.

To control a temper, breathe deeply and try not to get angry. In public, if you are about to show anger, perhaps excuse yourself and go for a walk on which you can do deep breathing.

Sometimes it is not possible to control a temper. Perhaps temper flares at a particular person. In the case of a particular person, wait for a situation in which you may confront that person calmly to try and explain to them how you are irritated by something they do or say. Or if you wish not to confront them, if possible avoid that person or situations in which that person can anger you.

In general, do not let things 'bottle up' over time. Better get them 'out of your system' or 'off your chest'. Over time, anger can build up to such a degree that it may explode rather toomuch eventually, which could be very embarrassing or unpleasant.

If you cannot speak to anyone you know about an angering person you have to be associated with or a situation of the world as we know it that angers you, try and 'get it off your chest' by seeking advice from a therapist or counselor.

'Controlling your temper', avoiding situations that anger you, learning to cope in difficult situations or with difficult people or opinions and learning to dispel anger or frustration so you feel better may seem slightly difficult realms, some more on topic than others. But they all should help in the main realm of the 'control of one's temper'.

I admire people who can easily control their anger. Sometimes what I do is just to say nothing and imagine the angry behaviour with effect on future.
