You should make sure you aren't licking your lips. That could cause the lip tissue to rip more. You should take care of your lips gently by using an unscented chap stick to be applied to your lips. I am not a doctor or anything but if day after day your lips are chapping worse and worse, you may want to see a doctor if they are looking gross or ugly. ( that last sentence kind of sounded harsh so don't take it to heart.) :{) FYI. NOTE : That face is supposed to look like a smiley face with lips.
Try applying honey to the affected area twice a day for about 15mins each time. Sounds strange, but the natural benefits of honey will work wonders. Takes a few days, but the skin should start healing itself. Also do not pick at it!
There is no official "cure" for dry lips, but there is a very easy, cheap home remedy for them, which if you apply to your lips every... hour or so. If you have been searching for a long time, you'll know you need beeswax, mica cream, etc..., but I have an AMAZING recipe, which is, as I said, very easy, quick and simple.
Scrummy lick-off lip scrub:
-1tsp acacia honey (normal honey is fine, but acacia honey has a nice after taste)
-1/2tsp standard porridge oats
-2 small drops olive oil
-A sprinkle of granulated white sugar.
>>Why are these ingredients so good?<<
Sugar - acts as the abrasive and it dissolves so you don't need to worry about "grit" getting in your mouth.
Honey - has anti-bacterial properties, is usually non-allergenic, and tastes good, and leaves your lips silky smooth.
Olive Oil - Moisturizes, protects, soothes, is tasteless in the scrub, and is non-toxic and generally non-allergenic. It won't clog your pores around the mouth either.
Oats - Gently smooths dry lips, without you even realising!
Mix together in the order listed in the ingredients list. Apply every hour or so, but leave on for about 1 minute, and lick off.
Hope this helps!

You get chapped lips usually because of weather and the fact that your lips need constant moisture and care.
During dry, hot weather, the moisture in your lips tends to be absorbed or evaporated, and during cold, stormy days, the moisture in your lips also tends to either freeze or dry up. This causes a lack of moisture in your lips, which means they get dry and wrinkled.
To fix chapped lips you need to keep them hydrated. Using chap stick or Vaseline on chapped lips can help them heal as well as protect them.

'Lypsol' brand lip balm, works best for me.
It does not use a strong perfumes.
I've used it since I was 12.
Apply chap stick and try not to lick your lips to much. If you lick your lips it just dries them out and can make them worse.
Just apply chap stick about 3 times a day. :)
Some common solutions for chapped lips would be that one is dehydrated and should consume some liquids (like water) or one may apply a lip balm such as Chap Stick to combat the chapped lips.

chapped lips
Im sure it is fine. You might have chapped lips because the lip rings are keeping the moisture from getting to your lips. When i got my lip ring my lips got slightly chapped also but make sure you do not put anything on your lips to heal the chapness. This might cause infection in the lip rings. If your lips get TOO chapped you might want to call the peircer and ask about it.
Chapped lips do not lead to flu. It is not possible. You get flu when you come in contact with another patient suffering from flu.
