In a video game: By re-spawning. A set tree has a certain number of logs and when they are cut it disappears into a stump. the more players in a world, the faster the re-spawn rate of the tree, the same goes for ores and other things of such origin.

In real life: Like many other trees, Yew trees reproduce through seeds. Usually in the case of Yew seeds, the cones are eaten by birds, but the seeds stay safe through a hard shell and are re-dispersed in bird excrement.
