Sound waves are channeled by the external ear, or pinna, through the external canal. causing the tympanic membrane to vibrate. This vibration activates the tiny bones of the inner ear-the hammer, anvil and stirrup. their mechanical vibrations are passed along from the oval window to the cochlea, where they set in motion the fluid in its canal. Tiny hair cells lining the coiled basilar membrane within the cochlea bend as the fluids move, stimulating nerve endings attached to them. The mechanical energy is then transformed into neural energy and sent to the brain.
The ear works when it got the outter ear,the middle ear and the inner ear.
Italian anatomist Alfonso Giacomo Gaspare Corti discovered the eardrum and how it works. The organ of Corti, in the ear, is named after him.
Cucurucho...roll a newspaper page into a dart/cone...place the small end in ear and light the big end...after a while the air will shoot out of your ear...be careful and have a bucket of water handy to put out the Cucurucho when done... This also works for air trapped in your back. Sounds crazy hey? It works like a charm!

One thing you could try that always works for me is putting Hydrogen Peroxide in your ear. It is completely safe, it may tingle and make loud noises in your ear, and it might be sensitive but it works, and if it doesn't work for you i would suggest going to see a doctor.
